About this Series: This intensive, hands-on training provides attendees
with a comprehensive review of the Linux essentials; the "how-to" knowledge
required to administer and troubleshoot Linux; and the ability to design, build,
and debug a Linux driver, in only 5 days!
The series includes the following workshops: Linux Boot Camp (1-Day), Linux
System Administration using Red Hat (2-Days), and Introduction to the Linux
Kernal and Linux Device Drivers (2- Days).
Prerequisites: Attendees should have practical experience using the Linux
operating system.
Linux Boot Camp: This 1-day course presents a comprehensive review of the
Linux essential concepts as well as the facilities, services, utilities, and
programs. It provides a way to keep up with the changes and the trends in the
operating system.
Objectives: Attendees will be able to:
Linux System Administration using Red Hat: The 2-day course
covers the basic administration functions and tasks including installation;
user and group administration; filesystem setup; NFS; SAMBA; NIS; Gnome;
Xwindows configuration; basic administration tools, backup, and troubleshooting.
Objectives: By the end of the course, attendees will be able to:
Introduction to Linux Kernal and Linux Device Drivers: This 2-day course
introduces the attendee on how to design, create, and implement drivers for
character devices, block devices for Linux, and it also provides an
introduction to the Linux kernel.
Prerequisites: Attendees should have practical
experience in C programming, UNIX system calls, and understanding of Operating
System architecture.
